Even though I was only tied in to Christian sites, the guys were a bit dicey in their motivations..that they were less obvious on the Christian sites. He said that he'd come see me, but his circumstances were different because he was taking a lot of risk coming. That meant a lot: 4 bus changes, 36 straight hours to cover 1300 miles!
Yes, there were some good guys on it, but the pickings were few and far between. Right during August when I was done with the soap-opera of the on line dating game, I met my hubby. That is because he is a paraplegic/stroke victim, and as such, is very vulnerable and easy to harm. I figured, if that guy had enough guts to risk life and limb to come see me, then he was most certainly worth my time. The internet dating thing has more pitfalls than good points.
basically, they start chatting me up and try to reveal the good heart I hide under my bad boy exterior.
Now, you might not believe this and/or you might not even agree with this method, but I would recommend you try it for at least a week to see the results it actually yields.

You need to feel his touch, smell him, see how he kisses, see him when he has the whole gamut of emotions, and get to see how YOU react to HIM. If a profile catches my eye, I send a nice respectful message asking if they would be interested in chatting. I have some self respect in not sending additional messages after that because that would seem desperate. I just dont get how if I take out the time to write a thoughtful message, they cant even acknowledge it and say they arent interested.
And to be honest, most guys are actually quite nice guys i.e. Through trial and error, I've discovered the best way to get an answer from girls on dating websites is: 1. one that makes you seem slightly mysterious/attractive/intriguing and which puts forward your best feature 2.
to write a profile description that makes you sound like a bit of an ****** Surprisingly, I get about 70% of girls answering me back with my '******' profile, some of them somewhat incredulous, and not quite believing I'm actually like that...
